P-47D Thunderbolt, Tamiya 1/48 WIP

In the colours of 313FS/50th FG, Pilot 1st Lt Phil Savides

Gielbelstandt, Ober Wurzburg, Germany 1945

One of the best kits i have ever built is the Tamiya P-47D in 1/48 scale (kit No61090). A kit with fine detail and even better fiting of the big parts (fuselage, wings etc). My built is almost out of box, with minor addings like seat belts and some wiring on the engine.

The cockpit was painted with Tamiya acrylics and all the detail with Humbrol enamels. Oil colours dilutted with Humbrol enamels thinner  were used for the weathering.

Alcland II colours were used for painting the mettalic fuselage. Olive Drab is from Xtracolour. For the decals i used the Aeroscale Decal Sheet N0 48-589.
